PSALM 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made
When I plan on doing a lifestyle newborn shoot in a client’s home, I never know what I'm going to see. What decor will they have? What will the baby be dressed in? Walking into Lauren and Chad's home, let me tell you....it was a dream. Every detail looked like something out of a magazine. Lauren, if I ever have my own children, I might hire you to come decorate my nursery. 😉
For some of my close friends and colleagues, you may know that I started my photography journey in the Kansas City area. Last Spring, my husband and I made the decision to move back to our hometown of Springfield, MO to be closer to family. Even though we have moved home, Kansas City still has a special place in my heart. When Lauren reached out about newborn pictures, I didn't hesitate to head back up to the place I used to call home. ❤️
The day of the pictures, there was a significant chance for rain. The sky was filled with clouds as I made the drive from Springfield to KC. Upon arriving at Lauren and Chad's home, the sky parted and the sun came out. This gave me the opportunity to take some beautiful natural light photos of Hampton's nursery. Lauren, I apologize if I spent a tad long on those detail pictures...but oh my goodness, they were worth it!!! Your interior design skills need to be shared with the world 😍
Readers, in the comments below, let me know what your favorite part about Hampton's nursery is:
Special props need to be given to Hampton. This little guy slept through the entire session! He opened his eyes one time after a bottle and stared directly at the camera. Those blue eyes! I feel lucky to have caught such a precious moment. While everything appears as though it went to plan....one tiny change had to be made. Lauren and I had chatted about heading to English Landing Park after completing the pictures at home. Since the sun was out the entire time we were in their home, we didn't think twice about heading over to the park. After Hampton finished his bottle, Lauren I stood up to head out the door. I turned around. Opened the font door. Thunder instantly boomed overhead. The sky was turning black. We glanced at each other thinking, where did this come from? Checking the radar, a large storm system was heading our way. We shifted gears to take photos outside their home. If you look very closely at the last photo, you might notice the sky is slightly darker. After that last photo, we fished up, headed inside.... and TORRENTIAL RAIN hit KC 😂
But we did it!!! The timing could not have been more perfect. Lauren and Chad, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to capture memories of your journey becoming a family of three.
The picture of baby’s hand and mom’s hand over the bible verse Psalm 139:14 makes my heart melt. ❤️❤️❤️
